140+ Juveniles Earn GED, High School Diploma

More than 140 DJJ juveniles recently experienced something many of them never thought possible - walking across the stage at graduation.

In July, the DJJ School District celebrated this year's GED and high school diploma earners with a traditional graduation ceremony. Each student wore cap and gown and was recognized for their academic achievements while under DJJ supervision. The number of graduates rose significantly from last year's group of about 90.

DJJ is committed to the whole-body rehabilitation of each juvenile we supervise. Our staff supports the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual development. For many kids, that redirection to a more positive path starts in the classroom. Congratulations to the teachers, administrators and staff across the state who helped students reach this milestone.
