Ben Lippen Business Class Showing Holiday Appreciation to Law Enforcement and First Responders

The Ben Lippen School business classes are showing appreciation to law enforcement officers and first responders this Christmas season. The students will be handing out gift bags to the men and women who protect and serve the Columbia area on Dec. 13 at the Launch! center on the Columbia International University/Ben Lippen campus.

The “Do Good December” event springs out of the students’ participation in the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy. The law enforcement officers and first responders are invited to stop by Launch! between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to enjoy Chick-fil-A food and receive a gift bag with a handwritten thank you card. The 150 gift bags include donations collected by the Ben Lippen students from local businesses.

The students’ professor, Amy Dubois, says she is thrilled at what her students have accomplished.

“I cannot stress how proud I am of our students,” Dubois said. “They have done so much work to get this together.”

The Ben Lippen business classes are a part of a dual enrollment program between Columbia International University and Ben Lippen. Support for the “Do Good December Event” is provided by the Decker Boulevard Chick-fil-A in Columbia.

Launch! is located at the rear of the Ridderhof Media Center on the CIU campus. See the interactive campus map.
