Thousands of technicians, line workers and damage assessors stand ready to repair power outages as Hurricane Dorian passes across the state. Santee Cooper said 25,000 customers lost power, but that it had been restored to all but 4,500.

Southern Current investing $14M in Hampton solar farm
The solar project developer is adding a 10-megawatt facility in Hampton County to an S.C. portfolio that includes projects in Marion and Orangeburg counties. The company partnered to commission a solar farm in Hampton in February 2018.
SCE&G customers to begin seeing name change to Dominion
Dominion Energy South Carolina will now appear on bills and other correspondence. The name and logo will soon show up in other places, including employee uniforms, company vehicles and employee ID badges.
New solar farm coming to Chesterfield
Santee Cooper and North Carolina Renewable Energy have reached a purchase power agreement to add the 75-megawatt Center Cooper Solar Farm in Chesterfield. The farm is projected to begin producing electricity in May 2020.
Breland joins SC Power Team as director of site development
Rebecca Breland, formerly with the S.C. Department of Transportation, will assist with product development for SC Power Team, the economic development arm of the state's 20 electric cooperatives.
New Dominion leadership team includes SCANA veterans
Keller Kissam, Rusty Harris, Iris Griffin and George Lippard will have leadership roles in the newly formed Southeast Energy Group, Dominion announced. SCANA CEO Jimmy Addison will serve as a consultant until he retires Feb. 1.
