More than $14.5M in infrastructure grants awarded
The S.C. Rural Infrastructure Authority selected 34 projects throughout the state to receive funds to improve water, sewer and stormwater systems. The organization awards grants twice a year through an application process.
Some attractions allowed to open Friday
Attractions including zoos and aquariums will be allowed to open, provided guidelines established by the AccelerateSC task force are followed. Sports leagues can resume practice May 30.

Penny Tax program update available Thursday
A virtual town hall will provide Richland County residents a chance to receive updates on and ask questions about the county's Transportation Penny Program. The town hall will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m.
County seed program restocking, creating waiting list
Richland County's Seed Sanctuary program has received more than 1,400 requests for packets of spring vegetable, herb and wildflower seeds. The program is funded by a grant from Friends of National Association of Conservation Districts.

Richland County residents can apply for and pay for marriage licenses online after a new measure was adopted by the county this week in response to COVID-19 health concerns. Marriage licenses will be mailed.
