Chapin High School to hold Winter Giving Assembly, announce $111,000 for special needs athletic project

CHAPIN— Chapin High School will hold its annual Winter Giving Assembly on Dec. 13, announcing more than $111,000 in donations for a project supporting special needs athletes.

WHAT:  Members of Chapin High School’s Student Government will present the donation to the Screaming Eagles Special Needs Athletic team, a Chapin-based nonprofit that provides opportunities for special needs students to play baseball, soccer and other sports. The team will use the donations to purchase a “Field of Dreams” for the athletes to compete and practice.

The funds were raised by students, staff, community members and parents of Chapin High School, Chapin Middle, Chapin Intermediate, Chapin Elementary, Lake Murray Elementary and Ballentine Elementary School. Chapin High School’s Winter Giving Assembly will also include performances from the school's band, chorus, orchestra, dance team and drama department.
