Charlotte, NC – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce the addition of John Tamasitis as an associate in the firm’s Columbia office. He joins the firm’s Commercial, Construction and Contracts practice group and will represent clients at all stages of complex commercial and construction litigation.
Prior to joining Parker Poe, John was an associate with Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd in Columbia, where he represented corporate clients and government-related entities in connection with complex litigation matters. He also has experience representing commercial investors, utilities and financial institutions in connection with commercial bankruptcy, insolvency, debt collection and creditors’ rights issues.
While earning his law degree at the University of South Carolina School of Law, he was the Fourth Circuit editor for the South Carolina Law Review. In addition, he was CEO of the Federalist Society on campus and a member of the Veterans and Service Members in Law Society.
Before practicing law, John served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. He served as the counterintelligence branch chief for two bases in Florida, directing anti-terrorism and counterintelligence investigations and services with the FBI and other government agencies. He also led a counterintelligence and counterinsurgency team in Afghanistan and was awarded a Bronze Star for his service. He received his bachelor's degree at the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he was class president and a cadet squadron commander.
