The free, self-guided driving tour features artists spanning the City of Columbia and Richland and Lexington counties. Explore Studios Across the Midlands
During the weekend-long Columbia Open Studios tour, 69 local artists across the Midlands will open their private, working spaces to the public. The free event allows guests to explore artists’ studios for a unique glimpse of the behind-the-scenes process that goes into the creation of signature works of art.

Columbia Open Studios is a chance for locals and visitors alike to immerse themselves in the Midlands’ visual arts scene. A variety of traditional and non-traditional media are showcased, from paintings and ceramics to wooden sculptures, indigo-dyed fabrics, hand-blown glass work and more. Guests can also chat with artists to learn about the materials, techniques and inspirations behind their work.

In addition to browsing studios and conversing with artists, the public can buy artwork for their homes over Open Studios weekend. Artwork is available for purchase, and each artist keeps 100 percent of his or her sales made during Columbia Open Studios.

Discover the work and workspaces of artists in your own neighborhood, or venture to studios across the greater Columbia area. Studio-hop to workspaces near and far, and visit local hotspots, restaurants and more along the way. Attendees can plan their free #ColaOpenStudios tour online at https://www.columbiaopenstudios.org/ or with a printed guidebook, which will be available at 701 CCA, around town and in the April 3 edition of Free Times.
