MPA Strategies’ General Counsel & Legislative Liaison, Ed Schafer, Selected as Member of Leadership Columbia Class of 2019

Columbia, SC – MPA Strategies is delighted to announce that our General Counsel & Legislative Liaison, Mr. Ed Schafer, was selected as a member of the Columbia Chamber’sLeadership Columbia 2019 Class. Leadership Columbia is a 10-month course designed to provide our community with an enduring source of leaders who are prepared and committed to serving their region. Ed is one of 60 applicants selected as a part of the 46th Class of Leadership Columbia.

Ed has over 15 years of experience as staff attorney and lobbyist for SC local governments and state associations. He was Staff Attorney/Lobbyist for the SC Association of Counties, Legislative Counsel for the Municipal Association of SC, and General Counsel and Director of Government Affairs for the Manufactured/Modular Housing Institute of SC. He graduated Cum Laude from the Honors Program at The Citadel and the University of South Carolina School of Law.

A skills-building program, Leadership Columbia aims to: identify and motivate emerging community leaders; provide an educational experience with a strong emphasis on social and community awareness; and challenge participants to apply their talents within their community while providing an opportunity to become involved.
