Prisma Health conducts 2019 Community Health Needs Assessment in Midlands and Upstate

Prisma Health is conducting a community health needs assessment (CHNA) in the Midlands and Upstate of South Carolina. Community health needs assessments are designed to help improve the overall health and wellness of communities by identifying community needs, the use of local health resources, and action needed to address health care delivery in a defined area.

Any resident in Richland, Lexington, Sumter, Greenville, Laurens, Oconee and Pickens counties is invited to participate in the 2019 CHNA survey. Surveys will be mailed to a sample population in the Upstate and Midlands and also is available online at www.PrismaHealth.org/CHNA .

This assessment also will include interviews with state and local elected officials, major employers, community members and community organizations that provide health services.

Once completed, Prisma Health will work with our partners to analyze the results, determine gaps in services and decide how the hospital system may be able to collaborate to meet high priority community needs. The project also will help determine where additional resources may be needed or how cost savings may be achieved.

For more information, visit www.PrismaHealth.org/CHNA.
