Richland Library To Reveal Design Plans For Southeast

Get Glimpse of Location's Renovations from August 22 - September 2

Columbia, SC- The future of Richland Library Southeast is about to be on display. From August 22 - September 2, local residents can stop by the Southeast location (7421 Garners Ferry Road) during normal business hours and look over details of the upcoming construction project.

During the informal plan reveal, renderings, floor plans and design materials are going to be onsite. Customers can see and feel how their input helped shape the renovation and reconfiguration of the 19,000 square-foot building. They can also interact with staff and ask any questions that they may have about the project.

It is the first time that any improvements have been made to Richland Library Southeast since relocating to the current facility in 1992. Customers can expect to see increased access to technology, a tinker space, gaming lab and an expanded children's area. There are also plans to include more comfortable seating and enhancements to the building's exterior.

The upgrades are part of a nearly $5 million project that is planned for Richland Library Southeast, made possible by Richland County residents who passed a $59 million bond referendum back in 2013.
