10th Annual Walk
April 11, 2019, marks the tenth anniversary of Walk A Mile in Columbia. Over the past nine years, thousands of South Carolinians, including survivors, have walked with STSM and shown their support of ending sexual violence in our state.
In 2018, nearly 1,500 community members joined STSM to bring awareness to sexual assault in our community.
Participants have their own unique reasons for walking, but all share a common purpose: to protect and support survivors, to give a voice to an experience shared by 1 in 4 women and 1 in 33 men, and to create a community where the sexual abuse and exploitation of people is not tolerated.
This is a family-friendly event, and it will take place rain or shine. Our goal is to have outpouring of community support to bring awareness to sexual assault and end sexual violence in our community. Men, women, children, and leashed four-legged friends of all ages are invited to participate.
