100 Women Who Care, Midlands SC Donates $15,000 to Family Promise of the Midlands

The Midlands Chapter of 100 Women Who Care donated $15,000.00 to Family Promise of the Midlands. During the Chapter’s May membership meeting Family Promise of the Midlands was nominated and then chosen to be the second quarter recipient of the groups combined donations. Family Promise brings the faith community together to help families regain their housing, their independence, and their dignity. It offers opportunities for volunteers of all faiths to reduce homelessness and transform lives.

100 Women Who Care Midlands SC currently has over 100 members who commit to giving one hour of their time each quarter to learn about local non-profits that are nominated by each member. Each member then agrees to support, financially, the local non-profit selected among those nominated and voted on, donating all their money directly to the selected non-profit each quarter. “The combined giving of each members contribution makes a powerful impact locally” said Leslie Clark, founder of the chapter in the Midlands.

This year, 100 Women Who Care Midlands SC was invited to partner with the Richard M Schulze Family Foundation (RMSFF). Richard Schulze, Best Buy's founder, has identified the Power of 100--Women Who Care structure as a meaningful way to partner with local philanthropists and give back to the many communities that have helped make Best Buy the world's leading electronics retailer. RMSFF will provide matching grants of 50% of the total dollars raised per meeting, up to $5,000. This quarter, 100 Women of the Midlands raised $10,000 for Family Promise and they will receive a matching grant of $5,000, bringing the total donation to $15,000.

The 100 Women Who Care Midlands SC Chapter has donated $96,225.00 to 14 Midlands Organizations. 100 Women Who Care Midlands SC invites women in the Midlands to become 1 of 100. If interested in learning more, contact Leslie Clark at 100wwcmidlandssc@gmail.com.
