One afternoon of golf could change a child’s life
COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA – Join Healthy Learners for the 19th annual Healthy Learners Champions for Children Golf Tournament in Memory of George Younginer to be held at Fort Jackson Golf Club in Columbia, South Carolina on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. Registration begins at 10 a.m. followed by a noon shotgun start. Following the day of golf are dinner and entertainment, announcement of winners, and the awarding of prizes.
Proceeds from the tournament benefit the children served by Healthy Learners, which is a faith-based non-profit that connects children to care so that poor health is not an obstacle to doing well in school. This is a great opportunity to help support an organization that continues to provide health care services for children who are in need and without resources. Healthy Learners partners with schools and community health care providers to not only help children secure needed health care services, but also to provide transportation and coordination of care for medical appointments. “We are preparing to increase the levels of fun and competition as we raise the bar for supporting children and would love to have you involved,” said Haley Shealy, Golf Tournament Director.
This year’s Premier Exclusive sponsor is AFLAC, and tournament co-chairs are Dawndy Mercer Plank, WIS-TV anchor and Matt Younginer, national account manager, Husqvarna and Healthy Learners Fund Development Committee member.
With unique opportunities to participate, the tournament is all-inclusive, with complimentary food and beverages served throughout the day, a variety of contests and exciting prizes, a great round of competitive golf, opportunities to bid on silent auction items and a hole-in-one contest sponsored by Dick Smith Nissan of Columbia. All sponsorships include recognition in The State newspaper “thank you” ad, as well as the company name included in tournament marketing materials and on the Healthy Learners website.
