One afternoon of golf can change a child’s life
COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA – Healthy Learners is holding its 20th annual Healthy Learners Champions for Children Golf Tournament in Memory of George Younginer Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Fort Jackson Golf Club.
Day-of registration begins at 10 a.m. followed by a noon shotgun start. The event includes complimentary food and beverages, a variety of contests and prizes, a silent auction and hole-in-one contest sponsored by Dick Smith Nissan of Columbia. Golf is followed by dinner and entertainment.
Proceeds from the tournament benefit the children served by Healthy Learners, which is a faith-based non-profit connecting children to care so poor health is not an obstacle to doing well in school. Healthy Learners partners with schools and community health care providers to not only help children secure needed health care services, but also to provide transportation and coordination of care for medical appointments.
AFLAC is the premier exclusive sponsor for the second consecutive year, and a variety of sponsorship opportunities remain. Tournament co-chairs are Dawndy Mercer Plank, WIS TV news anchor, and Matt Younginer, national account manager with Husqvarna.
“Dad would be blown away with the growth his tournament has achieved. He made it clear that we all should strive to help those in need”, said Matt Younginer, tournament co-chair. Join us as we host more than 200 golfers in the premier tournament you do not want to miss!
