AllSouth Made a Difference in the Community in 2019

AllSouth is dedicated to giving back to the community it serves.

Columbia, SC - AllSouth is dedicated to giving back and making a difference in the communities it proudly serves. In 2019, AllSouth implemented a new volunteer program which offered opportunities for their team members to volunteer with local non-profit organizations in the Midlands. This program offered paid time to team members for volunteering.

Through their volunteer program, AllSouth donated 178 hours of community service and served over 2,000 meals to individuals and families. They partnered with four non-profit organizations that align with their efforts of supporting the military, assisting those facing homelessness and hunger issues, and aiding in family crisis. “I feel lucky to work for a company that not only helps those in need, but also allows employees to give back to the communities in which they work and live,” said Buddy, an AllSouth team member, about his experience volunteering.

AllSouth’s first volunteer event was held at Harvest Hope Food Bank. During the event, a group of 24 team members prepared 1,700 boxes and bags of food that would provide a week’s supply of meals for approximately 300 families. A total of 70 volunteer hours were provided. Harvest Hope provides food and more to people who are dealing with hunger issues throughout the Midlands, Pee Dee, and Greater Greenville areas.

In July, AllSouth team members spent a day volunteering at three different Habitat for Humanity ReStores located throughout the Midlands. They provided 50 hours of service helping sort and price items, stock shelves, organize furniture, and unload donations. They also measured, cut and rolled 13 rolls of carpet. Habitat for Humanity ReStores sell and accept donations including home improvement items, furniture, appliances, and other household goods. The money raised at the ReStores helps Habitat for Humanity continue their mission to build and restore homes.

In September, a group of 24 employees volunteered at Senior Resources’ Meals on Wheels program. They served at three locations in Richland County packaging 360 meals to be delivered to senior citizens in the community. Senior Resources is a non-profit organization that coordinates services, provides resources, and encourages the personal choices that allow senior citizens in our community to remain independent.

The final volunteer event took place in October at Transitions where a group of 10 team members served lunch to 141 people. Transition, the largest homeless center in the Midlands, is a place where the journey home begins for many men and women who are struggling with homelessness. They work to equip and engage the people they serve to transition to stable and permanent housing.

Through AllSouth’s volunteer program, team members made a difference in the lives of those who needed it most in our community. The AllSouth team looks forward to giving back to the community in 2020.
