Program: Arts & Draughts
The Columbia Museum of Art hosts the next installment of its quarterly Arts & Draughts series on Friday, March 23, from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. In celebration of Soda City Suds Week, The Whig offers a cash bar and beer tastings from breweries around Columbia including Cottontown Brew Lab, Bierkeller Columbia, and Conquest Brewing Company. The evening features live musical performances from Dear Blanca, Pony League, and The Christine Building as well as DJ sets from the Greater Columbia Society for the Preservation of Soul. The Wurst Wagen, Real Mexico, The Belgian Waffle Truck, and Curiosity Coffee Bar provide treats and eats. Attendees get a chance to experience the exhibitions Renée Cox: Soul Culture, Seen and Unseen: Photographs by Imogen Cunningham, Seen and Heard, and Art of Healing, with artist Dogon Krigga, writer Julia Elliott, and poet Ray McManus leading unique perspective tours through the galleries. Visitors can participate in D.I.Y. art projects, scavenger hunts, live figure drawing, and more. Community partnersUnsweetened magazine, Save the Children Action Network, and USC's Ink and Paper are also on hand with art-inspired activities.
