COLUMBIA, S.C. – Ben Gooding, a member of Robinson Gray law firm, has been elected to the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court, an organization dedicated to fostering excellence in the legal profession and mentoring young attorneys.
The John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court was formed in South Carolina in 1986 and meets monthly during the academic year. It is modeled on London’s Inns of Court, and its purpose is to foster excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility, and legal skills. The Inn’s membership is comprised of judges, law professors, practicing attorneys, and law students. It is affiliated with the American Inns of Court.
Ben Gooding focuses his practice on appellate advocacy, professional negligence, and commercial litigation. As a former appellate law clerk, Ben offers a valuable perspective on briefing and arguing issues before an appellate court. He also has experience representing attorneys and law firms in legal malpractice actions in both state and federal courts.
His business litigation practice covers a wide variety of business disputes, including banking litigation, legal actions between members of an LLC, commercial landlord/tenant disputes and securities arbitration. Ben’s undergraduate studies in business and finance provide him with a background that is helpful to understanding the functions, operations, and complexities of the businesses he represents.
“We are very proud of Ben for continuing the Robinson Gray tradition of involvement with the Inn of Court,” said Managing Member Cal Watson, himself a former president of the Inn.
Ben joins a strong group of Robinson Gray attorneys who are proud John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court members, including: Michael Montgomery (immediate past president), Betsy Gray, Paul Hoefer, Becky Laffitte, Bobby Stepp and Cal Watson.
