On August 6 at 6:00 PM at Blythewood Town Hall, the Mayor and the Members of Town Council will remember and honor the brave men and women who were wounded on the battlefield or paid the ultimate sacrifice for our Country and our freedom.

The National Anthem will be performed by Vance and Jeannie Sharpe and the history of the Purple Heart will be given by Mr. Rich Roszelle of the Department of South Carolina, Military Order of the Purple Heart. Purple Heart Recipient, Sergeant First Class Harold Branham, USA Ret., will also be introduced at the ceremony.

Mayor Bryan Franklin stated, “Our Town is grateful for all Americans who were wounded or died fighting for our country. We hope you will join us on August 6 as we honor these men and women during our Town’s observance of National Purple Heart Day.”

The ceremony is open to the public and light refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the ceremony.
