COLUMBIA, S.C. (November 19, 2019) -- Owen Tyler, managing broker and broker-in-charge at The Cassina Group in Charleston is South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) 2020 president. Tyler was inaugurated in an awards ceremony at the association’s annual conference at the Francis Marion Hotel in September. His term began last week, following the National Association of REALTORS® annual meeting in San Francisco.
SCR President Tyler’s role will be to focus on SCR’s strategic plan and the protection of private property rights, while leading the association in its position as proponents for South Carolinians seeking the American dream of homeownership.
His vision as president is to focus on improving Realtor® professionalism within the industry, bringing solutions to issues affecting the quality of life for South Carolina’s homeowners and encouraging Realtors® to participate in philanthropic roles throughout their communities.
Owen Tyler is a graduate of Clemson University with a background in accounting. He previously was a general real estate broker before taking on a new role as managing broker and broker-in-charge at the Charleston boutique real estate company, The Cassina Group. He has been in real estate since 2001.
Tyler has served on local, state, and national board of directors and in leadership positions for South Carolina REALTORS®, Charleston Trident Association of REALTORS®, National Association of REALTORS®, Charleston Regional Development Alliance, The Children’s Trust of South Carolina and One80 Place.
He was the 2013 President of Charleston Trident Association of REALTOR® and currently serves as Governance Chair for One80 Place.
