Cayce Police Captain Graduates from the FBI National Academy

CAYCE, SC: The City of Cayce is proud to announce that Captain James “Jimmy” Gleaton of the Cayce Department of Public Safety (CDPS) graduated from the 273rd Session of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy (FBINA) on September 13, 2018.

Captain Gleaton, whom has been with the with the CDPS for five years, and served as the Sergeant over the Criminal Investigations Division, Lieutenant over Special Operations, Investigations, Fire Services, and Administration Division. He now serves as the Captain over Police Services. He is nationally certified through the International Fire Service Accreditation Certification and Pro Board in Fire Fighting.

The FBINA, a 10-week long intensive training program reserved for senior law enforcement officials, is internationally known for its academic excellence, advanced communication, leadership, and fitness training.

Less than one-half of one percent of law enforcement throughout the world will attend the FBINA.

Captain Gleaton is the third member of the Cayce Department of Public Safety to graduate from the FBI National Academy. Chief A. G. Dantzler (Session 101, 1978) and Chief Timothy M. James (Session 169, 1992) preceded Captain Gleaton in graduating the FBINA. Cayce’s Assistant Director, James Crosland, also graduated from the FBINA prior to coming to Cayce.

Director of Public Safety Byron Snellgrove encourages advanced training for the Department. “Completing this comprehensive training ensures our public safety officers are prepared to lead in any situation,” Snellgrove stated. “We are proud to see our law enforcement leaders like Captain Gleaton receive the recognition they deserve for proving themselves among the best and brightest in the country.”
