COLUMBIA, S.C. - The South Carolina Commission on Higher Education voted on Thursday to initiate a search for the position of president and executive director.
Following the vote, Commission Chairman Wes Hayes of Rock Hill said that “the Commission is committed to finding the best possible candidate because the next president and executive director must be a transformational leader with the strategic vision and experience to lead CHE in today’s extremely dynamic higher education environment.”
CHE is the state coordinating board for higher education and strives to promote quality and efficiency throughout the state higher education system with the goal of fostering economic growth and human development. The Commission is an advocate and regulator for 33 public institutions of higher education, 25 independent colleges and universities, and 23 degree-granting institutions licensed to operate in the state.
The South Carolina Division of Human Resources is assisting CHE in identifying qualified candidates. Those interested in applying for the position may apply online at careers.sc.gov.
