Columbia, SC, June 19, 2020 – Colliers International | South Carolina’s industrial brokerage team of Chuck Salley, SIOR, Dave Mathews, SIOR, Thomas Beard and John Peebles brokered the 54,312-square-foot lease at 128 McQueen Street in West Columbia to Shiyu Electronics USA, LLC.
Headquartered in China, Shiyu Electronics supplies parts for washing machines made in the Samsung manufacturing plant in Newberry.
“This deal signifies the impact of the Samsung investment in the central South Carolina region as another supplier moves into the area to be close to their plant,” said Salley, Vice President & Director of Industrial Brokerage Team in Colliers’ Columbia office. “The business-friendly climate of Lexington County was appealing to Shiyu.”
128 McQueen Street is a 170,195-square-foot industrial building near Old Dunbar Road in close proximity to the Columbia Metropolitan Airport in Lexington County. Other recent leases completed at the property include Morrisette Paper and Carolina Container totaling 115,883 square feet. The Shiyu lease brings the property to 100 percent occupancy.
