(Columbia, SC) Columbia College launched their Hospitality, Tourism and Event Management Program this semester with the first class held on August 29, 2018. This concentration is now being offered within the Business Degree program.
The Hospitality, Tourism and Event Management program has incorporated the expertise of an Advisory Board including Hospitality, Tourism and Event Management executives and professionals from around the state. This input has contributed to a dynamic curriculum to best prepare students who want to enter this field. While earning a Business Degree, students will take management courses on topics such as lodging, food and beverage, event management and current industry topics.
“This program has been designed specifically with the input of people currently in the industry to ensure our students are well prepared for positions upon graduation,” states Carole Sox, Hospitality, Tourism and Event Management Program Director. “We are focusing on the employment need within the industry throughout our state and beyond by properly equipping our students for success through our courses and our exciting internship opportunities.”
Columbia College has a 160-year tradition of empowering students at their women’s college, co-ed evening college, and co-ed online program. The College offers a personalized, liberal arts education for undergraduate students and flexible, specialized programs for co-ed undergraduate and graduate students.
