Columbia, S.C. – The Columbia Police Department, in partnership with Serve & Connect donated over 3,000 lbs. of food and supplies and 10 pallets of water to those affected by flooding from Hurricane Florence.
In recent weeks, one of Harvest Hope’s partners, Serve & Connect, hosted disaster relief drives at multiple law enforcement offices around South Carolina. The items collected will be placed into disaster boxes and distributed to community members in the counties affected most by the storm.
“We are thankful for our partners such as Serve & Connect,” says Keith Ferrell, Interim CEO for Harvest Hope Food Bank. “We had a need for supplies to help our neighbors in eastern South Carolina, and with the help of the Columbia Police Department and Serve & Connect, we are going to put a smile on a lot of faces.”
“These donations reflect a joint effort of law enforcement and the community to help people in need and show us what is possible when we work together,” says Kassy Alia, CEO of Serve & Connect. “We are proud to work with our partners on raising resources for our neighbors impacted by Hurricane Florence.”
