About Congaree Land Trust: The Congaree Land Trust (CLT) was founded in 1992 by seven individuals committed to conserving the natural and scenic lands in central South Carolina. Since CLT’s inception, they have conserved over 74,000 acres, representing 159 individual properties of priority conservation land in 13 counties. Conservation easements help protect the natural areas that fuel our state’s natural resource-based economy and define our way of life.

About Wavering Place: Situated near Congaree National Swamp, Wavering Place is a beautiful property of lush woodlands and working value. Purchased by the Adams Family in the 18th century, the sprawling homestead was protected by a conservation easement in December 2006. The family-owned property is listed on the national register of historic places. The easement, held by CLT, ensures the preservation of the Adams’ family place forever.
