CRC Academy Enrolls 1st & Main Cohort

Dr. Kasie Whitener, Vanessa Mota, and Shennice Cleckley live on the radio to announce the enrollment of the CRC Academy 1st & Main Cohort

COLUMBIA, SC – Clemson Road Creative announced today the official launch of CRC Academy, a certification mechanism for independent consultants. As part of Clemson Road Creative’s shared services platform, CRC Academy will certify independent consultants to run The R.O.A.D. Methodology, Clemson Road Creative’s proprietary system for delivering consistent, results-driven consulting services. The launch included announcement of the 1st & Main Cohort, CRC Academy’s first class of students, and an interview with Shennice Cleckley of Smart Cookie Coaching and Vanessa Mota of Mota Enterprises on Start Something, Columbia! on 100.7 The Point FM.

“We knew a lot of independent consultants were struggling to organize their operations,” CRC’s founder Dr. Kasie Whitener said. “We provide operational support in three areas, one of which is this knowledge base: best practices, methodology, process design. Within the knowledge base is The R.O.A.D. Methodology. Why not offer certification to those consultants we were introducing this system to?”

By certifying independent consultants in the delivery of a proven methodology, CRC hopes to set a new standard for delivering consulting services. The R.O.A.D. Methodology will transform the $16B consulting industry by standardizing service delivery and organizing operations into repeatable systems, thus enabling independent consultants to scale and grow their practices and clients to expect and receive a newly born industry standard.

“For too long the independent consultant has lacked the breadth of skills needed to operate a full business operation while also delivering high-valued knowledge services,” Dr. Whitener continued. “Clemson Road Creative’s shared services platform enables those individuals to outsource operations so they can focus on their core competencies. First, though, we want to make sure they deliver services reliably and professionally. That’s where The R.O.A.D. Methodology comes in.”

Besides certification and outsourced operations, Clemson Road Creative’s shared services platform offers a full suite of marketing operations. Beginning with marketing learning modules and ending with the execution of a detailed marketing plan that establishes thought leadership, CRC’s marketing services enable independent consultants to showcase their expertise through content marketing channels.

“Every independent consultant has a niche expertise, that thing that makes her knowledge exactly what your company needs,” said Jodie Cain Smith, Managing Partner and Marketing Discipline Lead at Clemson Road Creative. “We help them build the systems to create and share their expertise. All with the purpose of earning even more profitable business.”

CRC Academy’s 1st & Main Cohort is made up of five women, all independent consultants with their own branded and established businesses. As Cohort Learners, these five women will earn CRC The R.O.A.D. Methodology certification, hone their own marketing niche expertise, and develop their businesses through CRC’s project management for operational stability.

After working with the Women’s Business Center of South Carolina at Columbia College for a year, leading 1 Million Cups Columbia, a Kaufman Foundation program, hosting the radio show Start Something, Columbia! on 100.7 The Point weekly, and teaching entrepreneurship at the Darla Moore School of Business, Dr. Whitener’s business acumen is well documented. Sharing her experience and methodology with other independent women business owners is a natural progression for this professional educator and entrepreneur.

“I’m excited about 1st & Main,” Dr. Whitener said, “These women are going to prove our theory that with the right support and the right combination of resources and knowledge, women can chart their own path in a gig economy. Trends say more women, moms, and mid-career professionals will be looking for autonomous employment in the future. Entrepreneurship is not a venture capital game, it’s an alternative to the failed industrial economy we’ve been living in. If more women want to go out on their own, they should be able to do so successfully. Let’s help them get it right from the beginning.”
