Sanford Dinkins, a Vice President with Cox and Dinkins, a local and regional land surveying, civil engineering, transportation engineering, and landscape architecture firm, has been named to the City of Columbia’s Design Development and Review Commission.
The commission reviews and approves work proposed within Columbia’s historic districts, urban design areas, and designated landmarks. The Commission generally meets the second Thursday of every month at City Hall.
He received two degrees including a B.S. in Civil Engineering and B.S. in Chemistry, both from the University of South Carolina. Mr. Dinkins obtained his P.E. (Professional Engineer) license in 2012 and quickly began working on projects in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia, to include various projects within the governmental sector.
He is LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certified and helps lead the firms’ economic and community growth initiatives, continues the advancement of technology within the company, leads a team of our land development division, and is the engineering design leader for all federal clients and projects.
“Columbia has always been home to me and I want to make every effort to give back to the City that has given me so much,” Dinkins said. “I am truly honored to serve on this Commission alongside several other knowledgeable and humble city servants.”
