CAYCE, S.C. – Dominion Energy South Carolina’s lobby was lively on Aug. 30 as employees gathered to learn more about Employee Resource Groups (ERG), which play a key role in the company’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. The ERG fair was presented by the company’s Diversity Council.
In South Carolina, employees can join five company-sponsored ERGs at no cost for employees:
• African American Resource Group
Connects and empowers African American employees through educational opportunities and cultural and networking events.
• Asian Pacific Islander Resource Group
Promotes the diverse and multicultural Asian Pacific Islander heritage within Dominion Energy and throughout the communities Dominion Energy serves.
• DiverseAbility Resource Group
Fosters efforts to recruit, support and retain employees with disabilities and provide for the needs of employees who are caregivers, leaders and peers of individuals with disabilities.
• Veterans Resource Group
Supports those who served in the Armed Forces through company programs and community organizations that strategically target veterans’ needs.
• Women’s Resource Group
Fosters equality in the workforce by connecting and empowering women in the company and communities.
“We have to be intentional in our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion,” said Keller Kissam, president of Dominion Energy South Carolina. “That means cultivating a work environment where all employees have the opportunity to demonstrate their different talents and perspectives and are empowered to realize their true potential. Our Employee Resource Groups are important in this ongoing effort.”
Each group offers members opportunities to network through meetings and events and volunteer in local communities. For example, the African American Resource Group hosted back-to-school supply donation drives at local schools, and the Veterans Resource Group volunteered to lay wreaths at Fort Jackson National Cemetery as part of Wreaths for America.
