Cayce, S.C. – Dominion Energy South Carolina has been named as one of the ‘Easiest To Do Business With’ utilities nationally for the second year in a row, according to Escalent, a top data analytics and advisory firm. Dominion Energy is one of 46 utilities scoring high marks in customer effort.
Escalent completed approximately 76,100 surveys across the nation, among residential electric and natural gas customers. While an increasing number of customers say their ideal utility should be easy to deal with, the study highlights the challenges utilities have had providing easy customer service.
“The utilities recognized today as Easiest to Do Business With helped their customers navigate this period of higher energy prices across the board,” said K.C. Boyce, vice president at Escalent. “These utilities made it easy for customers to understand their bills and get answers when they had questions. They also engaged their customers with valuable and easy-to-use programs and services.”
Dominion Energy offers a variety of ways for customers to stay connected, including the Dominion Energy mobile app. The app is a convenient, secure, and easy-to-use interface where customers can report outages, pay their bills, make payment arrangements, and monitor their energy usage. Approximately 450,000 South Carolina customers have downloaded the app since 2020.
“With more than 1 million electric and natural gas customers across our service territory, we continue to invest in our customers’ experience,” said Sam Dozier, general manager of customer service for Dominion Energy South Carolina. “As customers’ expectations continue to evolve, we’ve sharpened our focus on providing a consistent service experience across a variety of convenient self-service options."
