Fairfield County Volunteer Firefighter Selected for Leadership Institute

Winnsboro, SC— March 11, 2022 — Fairfield County Fire Services is excited to announce that volunteer firefighter, Melissa Adams, was selected for participation in the 2022 Fire Service Leadership Institute. At the annual legislative day at the Statehouse, Mrs. Adams (pictured on the far left) was introduced by the Association as part of the next class.

"I’m excited and humbled to have been selected to participate in the Leadership Institute this year,” says Ms. Adams. “I’m looking forward to growing my leadership skill and learning from so many accomplished fire officers in SC.”

Melissa has been a volunteer firefighter for Fairfield County for almost 10 years, and she currently serves as Captain at the Ridgeway Fire Station 7.

The South Carolina State Firefighters' Association Leadership Institute is a year-long leadership development and educational program set in an executive-level environment with an emphasis on open communication and group project-based skills. The Association’s Leadership Institute is offered to individuals to improve and develop fire service leadership at the state level through networking and education pertaining to the many facets of the fire service profession.
