Join Josh Roberts and the Hinges, The Mobros, and MTC Showoff Finalists for “Harbison Heat”
Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College (HT@MTC) is hosting a summer concert event that begins outdoors in the afternoon and moves inside in the evening. Join MTC Showoff Finalists, The Mobros, and Josh Roberts and the Hinges for “Harbison Heat,” happening Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 4 PM – 9 PM at HT@MTC.
Beginning at 4 PM, there will be an assortment of flavors from local food trucks in the shaded area behind HT@MTC, and MTC Showoff finalists playing originals and covers for the community to celebrate summer. The Showoff finalists include Howling Child (Cassandra Ward), Kierra Gray, and Leven (Christopher Jackson). In addition, representatives from the college will be on-hand to answer enrollment questions or assist in the application process. There are no tickets required for this outdoor part of the event.
The food trucks will include The Blended Bakery, Haute Dog Lady, ME SO Hungry, and beverages from Ed’s Bartending Service. Sarah Dippity will also be on hand for fun face painting and interactive activities for kids of all ages.
The Mobros will kick the concert off at 6:30 PM inside the theatre. The Mobros are a duo from Camden, SC who have gained regional success with releases like “Walking with a Different Stride,” “Carrie Ann,” and more. Their funky music is frequently heard in venues across the state.
Josh Roberts and the Hinges will close out the evening and headline the main event. Josh Roberts and the Hinges are a 4-piece band out of Charleston, S.C. known for their raw, gutsy sound. Their powerful style includes blues, country, punk, and soul that links harmonies with Roberts’ coarse guitar. Their sound is uncompromising, and they have played hundreds of shows across the country.
“I have always wanted to have a season kickoff event and summer celebration on the historic and beautiful Harbison Campus,” says Kristin Cobb, Executive Director of HT@MTC. “This will be a great way to hear some amazing regional talent, enjoy local food truck fare, learn about the exciting 19-20 season, and even a little more about the college!”
Tickets for the evening event are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and free for ages 3 and under. You can purchase tickets at HarbisonTheatre.org or by calling the box office at 803.407.5011.
