McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture is pleased to announce the recent hire of former Tri-County Technical College (TCTC) President and workforce development advocate, Dr. Ronnie L. Booth.
As President of TCTC beginning in 2003, Dr. Booth worked closely with the South Carolina Technical College System, the community, and industry leaders to advance his vision for greater accessibility and enhanced workforce development programs serving Anderson, Oconee and Pickens counties. Over the past 16 years, Dr. Booth spearheaded numerous initiatives that helped propel TCTC to the top of state and national rankings. In addition, he established three community campuses, three Workforce Training Centers, an Economic Development Center, and an Industrial Technology Center.
“Dr. Booth has consistently demonstrated a remarkable dedication to and understanding of the value that workforce development and higher education bring to our communities,” said Karen Calhoun, the firm’s Vice President of Business Development. “His commitment to creating equitable access to advancement opportunities aligns well with our firm’s focus on enhancing the communities where we live, work, and play. In addition to his professional accomplishments at TCTC, Dr. Booth is active in several associations, civic groups, and Boards. He formerly served as a Board Member on the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Community Colleges of Appalachia, American Association of Community Colleges, Executive Committee of the Upstate SC Alliance, and Economic Development Boards for Anderson, Oconee and Pickens Counties. He currently holds a Board Member position on the Duke Energy South Carolina President’s Advisory Board, National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity, Senior Solutions, and Innovate Anderson.
