Now in its fifth year, the SC Aerospace Conference and Expo is scheduled to take place October 9 & 10, 2018 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
Spearheaded by the SC Council on Competitiveness’ SC Aerospace initiative, the SC Aerospace Conference and Expo is organized as a joint-effort between the South Carolina Department of Commerce, University of South Carolina, South Carolina Aeronautics Commission, and the South Carolina Aviation Association.
The 2018 event will begin with a keynote address from Columbia native General Charles Bolden, a former astronaut who served as the 12th Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Following General Bolden’s address will be two days of workshops, presentations, and panel discussions from a bevy of influential figures from across the aerospace industry including Darren Hulst, Managing Director of Market Analysis & Sales Support for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Peter Bunce, President and CEO of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), and Retired Air Force Brigadier General, John Michel who is the Director of Skyworks Global, Inc.
In addition to the workshops and presentations, the conference will include a business and workforce development track, B2B matchmaking event, Aerospace Career Days for participating high school and middle school students, ACE technical symposiums, a pitch competition, and an exhibit hall with company and student presentations.
The South Carolina Aerospace Conference and Expo is the only one of its kind in South Carolina, designed to connect leaders from industry, academia and government to showcase the growing aerospace cluster in the palmetto state. Last year over 500 aerospace professionals attended the conference and this year’s event is expected to see an even larger number of attendees.
To give participants more time to register for this great event at a discount rate, the deadline for early bird registration has been extended to July 30, 2018.
