Hollywood, SC - Make a splash to support more than 200 animals calling Hallie Hill home during the Laps for Love fundraising event on Saturday, August 19. The annual fundraiser, sponsored by West Ashely Veterinary Clinic and Crews Subaru, and matching sponsors Aqua Blue Pools and Golden Properties of Charleston, aims to raise $30,000.
Starting at 6:30am, participating swimmers will compete in either a two-hour, 200-lap swim or a one-hour, 100-lap swim to raise funds to cover everything from food and shelter to medical procedures for the animals at Hallie Hill. The community is encouraged to show support on halliehill.com/laps-for-love/ by donating to help swimmers meet their goal directly or by donating "per lap" through one or multiple swimmers. Hallie Hill is also accepting Event and Matching Sponsors.
All funds raised will go to helping animals like Max, Jameson, Alfredo, and Lolly. Max, a cat, came to the Sanctuary with a broken spine and has since been adopted by his foster caregivers. Jameson, a dog, had skin issues, requires special food, and has been diagnosed with Muscle Myositis, but is very happy and comfortable. Alfredo is a diabetic cat, requiring insulin every twelve hours, but he is so adorable. Lolly, a beagle mix, has skin issues and neurological issue that causes her to have an unsteady gait. Lolly loves to sniff in the open fields and loves chasing squirrels.
Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary is a 501c3 animal sanctuary whose mission is to rescue and care for abandoned, abused, or neglected animals without a home or shelter. They prepare animals for adoption and provide a loving Forever Home with the proper shelter, nutrition, and medical care for those animals whose chances of adoption are reduced due to age, medical, or behavioral issues. An integral factor in Charleston becoming a no-kill community, Hallie Hill provides respite and rehabilitation for dogs and cats, preparing them for adoption and providing a loving forever home to those who cannot be adopted.
