The Courage Center presents A Day in May, a concert and breakfast on Thursday, May 5 from 8 – 9:30AM, with registration at 7:30. This ticketed fundraiser at Saluda Shoals Park’s River Center supports the no-cost recovery services for youth and families offered by The Courage Center. Make your morning matter more with breakfast, Loveland Coffee, and music and recovery testimony from Hootie & The Blowfish musician Jim Sonefeld. ABC Columbia’s Curtis Wilson serves as the emcee.
"A Day in May will be a tribute to the lives changed by The Courage Center," says Randy Rush, Executive Director for The Courage Center. "The Courage Center provides no-cost support services for youth and families making the journey to recovery from substance misuse and substance use disorder. Proceeds from this event will help us continue to offer vital life-affirming services to those at hurting in our community.”
Headliner Jim Sonefeld will perform two songs from his solo career, Not Waiting on Sunday and Unafraid, and close with Hold My Hand, the hit he wrote for and performed with Hootie & The Blowfish. Jim will share his story about recovery from addiction and talk about the hope that lives in recovery.
Sponsorships that include admission tickets may be secured online at https://zurl.co/IeAt. Proceeds from this event will allow The Courage Center to continue to offer no-cost services to participants. Representatives from local government, law enforcement, the education community, health care professionals, EMS personnel, and the recovery community are invited to attend the event at no charge as special guests. Register at https://zurl.co/NW44.
Guests will enjoy individual breakfast kits complete with croissant breakfast sandwiches, pastries, fruit, and juice. Our beverage sponsor Loveland Coffee (www.lovelandcoffee.com) will provide a delicious hot cup of courage to go with breakfast.
Registration starts at 7:30AM at The River Center inside Saluda Shoals Park. The park opens at 7AM and gates will not open before that time. Once inside the park, ticket holders will follow The Courage Center signage to The River Center. Pick up breakfast and have your photo taken with Jim Sonefeld. Jim will share proceeds from the same-day sales of his album Found in Love with The Courage Center.
