Kimberly R. Lyons, Ph.d. Joins SC Asphalt Pavement Association As Technical Director

Columbia, SC - The South Carolina Asphalt Pavement Association (SCAPA), based in Columbia, SC, announced today that Kimberly R. Lyons, Ph.D. has joined SCAPA as the Technical Director. Prior to joining SCAPA, Dr. Lyons served as Geotechnical Project Engineer with NOVA Engineering in Norcross, Georgia.
In addition to her work, Dr. Lyons participated in the 2018-2019 class of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Georgia’s Future Leaders Program. She also served as a National Science Foundation Grant Review Panelist for 2018.

A graduate of Clemson University, Dr. Lyons earned her Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials. While at Clemson, she served as a graduate research assistant and graduate instructor of record in civil engineering.

Dr. Lyons will provide training, education, and technical assistance to SCAPA members, state and local agencies, as well as professional engineers, architects and developers. Her expertise in asphalt pavements will serve as a resource across the state and region.
