Columbia, SC- Can you smell what Richland Library Northeast is cooking? If you haven't been able to experience the new Teaching Kitchen, located at 7490 Parklane Road, there are three chances throughout the month of March.
Being part of the International Corridor, the Teaching Kitchen offers an environment where you can learn about different cooking techniques, regional and international cuisine, and nutrition. Meet Culinary Arts Coordinator Caroline Bradley and bring your appetite during the following programs:
Salty: Teen Cooking Class
5 - 6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 21
Explore different styles of pasta making from local chef, Hope Young, and learn to make it from scratch. Register here.
Tater Tots: Kids Cooking Class
2 - 3 p.m., Saturday, March 23
Make homemade pizza with sauce and assorted toppings as we learn math skills. Register here.
Must Love Food: Adult Cooking Class
6 - 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 28
Tired of ordering Chinese takeout? Learn how to make some simple dishes at home. Pork and shrimp dumplings, orange chicken, and fortune cookies are on the menu. Register here.

All programs are free and open to the public. Before the start of each program, you must address any dietary restrictions or allergies, and parents or guardians must sign waivers for those, ages 13 and under.
The Teaching Kitchen is one of many features inside the newly-designed Richland Library Northeast. The building was part of a more than $4 million construction project that opened to the public back in October 2018.
