Local author Rachel Haynie will be Remembered at Words & Wine Event

Words and Wine – a Monthly Readers and Writers Event -- will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Jubilee Circle, 2627 Millwood Avenue, Columbia, SC, 29205.

Words and Wine is free and open to the public.

Local author Rachel Haynie will be remembered in October through her publications, focusing on a viewing of Columbia as told by local artists, including Blue Sky. His painting of the State Capitol, Foggy Dome, is on the cover of Rachel’s CD, Columbia: Wherefore Art?. A total of 38 local authors’ work is included in the CD. Rachel wrote 12 books, including First, you Explore: The Story of the Young Charles Townes, Myths and the Mysteries of South Carolina, and Cornfield to Airfield: A History of Columbia Army Air Base. The moderator for the evening will be author Pat McNeely.

Enjoy wine and light refreshments, music by Ken Baldwin and Igo Agafonov, a showing of a video authored by Rachel Haynie and moderated by author Pat McNeely, and a book signing by other participating authors. Although Rachel’s books will not be for sale, books by the other featured authors will be available for purchase and personally signed by the author. Others featured authors in October will be Sheila Morris, Non-fiction; Bonnie Stanard, Fiction & Children; and Al Black, Poetry.
