Traci Neal was honored virtually at the York Story Slam
A local Columbia, SC poet, Traci Neal wins the York Story Slam for the month of July. The slam is held virtually on July 20, 2021, in York, PA. The theme is Great Escapes. Neal is a first-time storyteller. There are six other storytellers. She is the first one to be chosen by a random number. Although Neal feels nervous about being the only person from South Carolina and a woman of color, she shares her story anyway. Once the final storyteller finishes, Neal thinks someone else has won the story slam. To her surprise, Neal hears her name instead. Traci Neal is the July winner for the York Story Slam!
