Devine Street’s newest boutique focuses on unique children’s clothing & a sense of community
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Marigold Modern Kid’s Boutique will celebrate their grand opening on Thursday, August 16, from 3 until 7pm at their new store location on Devine Street, 2732-D Devine Street. The celebration will feature a braid bar, face painting, food, Izzabee’s cotton candy machine, a live musician, and giveaways throughout the afternoon.
Marigold Modern carries unique children’s clothing lines including brands such as Rylee & Cru, Petite Lucette, Fin & Vince, and Freshly Picked among dozens of others. They have newborn sizes up through children’s size 10, and will add children’s size 12 and 14 in the spring. The store celebrates and represents sustainable craftsmanship and quality from around the world with their inspiring collection of modern and traditional brands. Each item sold in the shop is something unique and not typically found in Columbia.
“I wanted to bring things to Columbia that weren’t here previously,” owner Louisa Vann said. “Marigold Modern is a place for people to come and shop because they know that they’re going to get something special and unique for their child.”
The store’s location and its layout was designed with both mothers and children in mind to make the shopping experience both welcoming and enjoyable.
“Our store has off street parking, which is great for the mom with two kids under five,” Vann said. “She won’t have to worry about parking on the street and corralling them on the sidewalk to the store. Customers can bring their children, their stroller, and their carriers—there’s plenty of room. We have a couch for new mothers to sit on if they need to nurse their child and we have snacks available for the older kids, too. We wanted to create a community here that’s easy to enjoy.”
Marigold Modern is open Monday through Friday, 10am until 6pm, and on Saturdays from 10am until 4pm.
