Mid Carolina Credit Union hosted a ribbon cutting for their new two-story 12,000-square-foot office on September 4th. The new facility, which replaces its former location on the InVista Plant property, is located next to Heritage Chevrolet at 841 Highway 1 South in Lugoff. This exciting venture is in response to the tremendous growth Mid Carolina has experienced in recent years.
The first floor houses a full-service flagship branch to serve local members. It also includes our Mortgage Department, two ATM’s, a coin machine and safe deposit boxes with enhanced security access. The second floor has office space for executive staff, staff, committee and community meeting space and several back-office departments. The facility was designed by Consultants and Builders, Inc. and is the first to feature the credit union’s new modern retail design.
Mid Carolina Credit Union CEO, Scott Conley said, “We are excited about our expansion; this building signifies our continued strong growth and further cements our commitment to serving our members and the community. Our Community, Our Focus is not just a marketing phrase for us. Considering we are one of only two financial institutions, where the home office is based in Kershaw County, we are proud to claim Kershaw County as our home. We are also proud of that everything Mid Carolina Credit Union does is for the positive impact of its members and the community we serve.”
During the week’s Grand Opening events, MCCU gave out daily free gifts, hosted an open house with food truck vendors for the community and ended the week with a celebration day of prize wheel giveaways. Members and the public were also able to register to win one of seven door prizes during the week’s festivities, which included two cash prizes of $500 and five tailgating packages.
In keeping with its long-standing tradition of supporting the communities it serves, MCCU hosted a charity donation giveaway in which members and the general public were able to vote. Charities in the drawing were: Habitat for Humanity of Kershaw County, KC Humane Society and Elgin PD Toy Round-Up. The credit union gave a $1000 donation to the first-place winner, Habitat for Humanity and a $250 donation to both the second and third place winners, Elgin PD Toy Round-up and KC Humane Society.
