Midlands Families Receive Holiday Food Baskets From SCE&G
SCE&G’s annual Good Neighbor Fund Christmas Project helps families in need

WHAT: Hundreds of pre-identified families across the Midlands will receive food baskets from SCE&G employees and retirees through the company’s employee-funded annual Good Neighbor Fund Christmas Project. Toys will also be provided for families with children ages 14 and younger.

Company-wide, employees will prepare and distribute 975 baskets to families in South Carolina and North Carolina.

WHEN: Thursday, Dec. 13, 9 a.m.

WHERE: SCANA Operations Support Center, 220 Operation Way, Cayce, S.C. 29033

SCHEDULE: 9 a.m. Remarks from SCE&G leadership
9:05 a.m. SCE&G employees fill baskets with a ham, vegetables, fruit, potatoes, rice and candy assembly-line style. (Great photo-op!)
10 a.m. Employee and retiree volunteers will pack their cars and begin delivery of the baskets.

WHY: The GNF is a nonprofit organization run by SCE&G employees and retirees that provides financial assistance to families in need facing unexpected tragedies or emergencies. The Christmas project is the culmination of a year of ongoing activities sponsored by the GNF through donations from the company’s employees and retirees. Since 1983, the GNF has assisted more than 12,400 families with donations of more than $4.6 million. More than 20,100 baskets have been delivered in South Carolina and North Carolina. One hundred percent of all donations go directly to helping families in need.
