“The Big Band Serenade”
Wednesdays, 1:30-3 pm, April 4- May 30

Retired Impresario Arnold Breman will lead us on a historical journey through six decades of incredible Big Band music. Starting with 1910, the course will cover The Bands, The Band Leaders, the Crooners and Canaries who became famous singing with the great bands, and the Songs that became iconic for the American public.

From Paul Whiteman to Count Basie to Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman. From Ethel Waters to Doris Day to Ella Fitzgerald to Rosemary Clooney and from Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra to Xavier Cougart to Louis Armstrong, the biggest names in music during the 20th Century owe a lot to The Bands. The course will include lecture, photos, and videos of ALL the famous performers.
