New Life For Old Columbia Gateway Industrial Site

COLUMBIA, SC – The development team at Cohn Corporation has teamed with Wilson Kibler to redevelop the retired Intertape Polymer Group industrial site at 2000 South Beltline Boulevard. This existing industrial site serves as a gateway to Columbia at I-77 and the corner of Shop Road and Beltline Blvd. This site was purchased by a group of local investors and will be transformed into a new business park that will help serves the Midlands market.

George McCutchen of Commercial Real Estate firm Wilson Kibler and Harris Cohn of Cohn Corporation, a local developer and general contractor will lead the redevelopment project. The property consists of approximately 80 acres and 8 buildings totaling nearly 350,000 square feet. “We were interested in this project because it not only cleans up a contaminated industrial site but more importantly cleans up a highly visible gateway to our city,” said George McCutchen, Wilson Kibler Commercial Real Estate.

“For nearly two decades we have had our eyes on cleaning up this property as an anchor site on one of Columbia’s most heavily traveled business corridors. It’s sat abandoned and as an eye-sore for far too long. Our team is excited to bring new life to this site and additional capacity to the market,” said Harris Cohn of Cohn Corporation.

Phase I of the renovation project is expected to be completed in Q2 of 2023 and will consist of a 15,000 SF Two-Story office building, 37,500 SF Warehouse with loading dock, 10,000 SF Warehouse and Office with additional parking, 3,750 SF of Storage, new Perimeter Road and over 10 acres of laydown yard.
