Oktoberfest Columbia

Holy Schnitzel!
It’s Time for Incarnation Lutheran Church’s Oktoberfest

Columbia, SC…Incarnation Lutheran Church is celebrating its German heritage with Oktoberfest, three days of fun, food and entertainment for the whole family. The gray stone church with the red doors at 3005 Devine Street invites one and all to this free event on Friday, October 12 and Saturday, October 13, 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.; and Sunday, October 14, 12 p.m. – 7 p.m. This original German festival offers a fun, authentic German experience, with German beer, homemade German food and treats, and plenty of great entertainment for all ages. We’ll also hold a special worship service Sunday morning at 10 a.m. outside under the tents with the Mountain Top Polka Band.
Bring the kids for the Kinderzone, which includes face painting, balloon artist, playground games, live appearances by Martin and Katie Luther, and much more! Then stay for grown-up entertainment—two authentic biergartens with extensive German and craft selections; live entertainment from real oompah bands and dancers (with the Chicken Dance, of course); homemade, authentic German food; and delicious pastries made by the ladies of the church. The full German menu includes sauerbraten, schnitzel or bratwurst (eat in or take out); traditional German pretzels and mustard; and hot dogs for the kids.
Parking is available at Epworth Children’s Home; enter at Devine and Olive Streets. No pets please. For more information, visit oktoberfestcolumbia.com. Proceeds from Oktoberfest will benefit Lutheran Services Carolinas. We thank our sponsors: The State, the City of Columbia, Pollock Company.
