Palmetto Primary Care Physicians’ (PPCP) executive partners and board of directors have appointed Melissa Pitchford, CPA as Chief Financial Officer for the statewide multi-specialty physicians group.
In her role, Pitchford, a Lowcountry resident, will lead and oversee the strategic management of financial activities and operational growth for more than 40 independent medical practices, a clinical laboratory, and imaging and diagnostic services. An experienced Chief Financial Officer with an extensive history of serving growing companies, she has worked directly with executive management teams, governing boards and corporate owners in developing the company’s financial and operational strategies.

Pitchford brings over 20 years of experience in managing operational teams including, Human Resources, IT and Revenue-Cycle Management as well as Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A). She has a background in public accounting and has developed an Accounting knowledge base with specialization in Healthcare.
Prior to joining PPCP, Pitchford served as Chief Financial Officer for Equiscript, Advantage|ForbesBooks, Sage Growth Partners and Katzen Eye Group. She holds a Bachelor of Science focused in Accounting from Salisbury University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
