In recognition of Women's History Month, Prisma Health recently announced the nominees and top honorees in its 2023 Women of Impact observance.
This year, team members submitted record 103 nominations to recognize eighty-nine of their peers or leaders, women who went beyond their work roles and responsibilities to advance diversity, strengthen a sense of belonging and make others feel seen, heard and valued.
The top honorees were Dr. Naceme Azizzadeh, family medicine specialist; Latasha Brewton, chronic conditions management supervisor; Stephanie John, workforce wellness manager; Jenn Maness, philanthropic giving manager; Jennifer Porth, continuum of care manager; Tina Ralyea, chief nursing officer; Dr. Kerry Sease, pediatrics specialist and medical director for Accountable Communities and Prisma Health Children’s Hospital Bradshaw Institute; Alexandra Twomey, Human Resources shared services manager; and Qixia Zhang, pharmacist.
This year’s Women of Impact recognition was announced through a video featuring Prisma Health leaders and a speech about women leaders in South Carolina by Cynthia Bennett, chief diversity officer, SC Chamber of Commerce.
The nominations included team members in a variety of roles, from the departments of Medicine, Pharmacy, Environmental Services, Patient Access, Visitor Services, Communications, Supply Chain, Acute Care, Ambulatory, Infection Control, Nursing, Workforce Wellness, Accounts Payable, Chaplaincy, Human Resources, Clinical Research, Medical Group, Graduate Medical Education and Customer Service.
Executive Vice President Amy Linsin, chief human resource officer and chief diversity officer, noted this year’s national theme is “Women Who Tell Our Stories.”
Lisin said, “The theme is particularly true of Prisma Health's community of women, women who share their stories by nurturing our patients, supporting team members and allowing each other to be authentic,” she said. “Their stories and the larger human story embody our understanding of differences and embrace our similarities to enhance our connections to inspire health, serve with compassion, be the difference.”
“It has been so heartwarming and inspiring to read about all the amazing females in our organization and the impact they have on our team members and communities every day,” said Jill Iser, senior performance improvement advisor and co-chair of the Women’s Business Resource Group. “Congratulations again to the top honorees. Continue to tell your stories!”
