Prominent Lobbyist Lisa McGill Sweatman Joins Adams and Reese in Columbia

Adams and Reese is pleased to announce experienced lobbyist Lisa McGill Sweatman has joined the firm’s Government Relations practice and Columbia, South Carolina office as a Government Affairs Advisor.

Sweatman has nearly 15 years of experience working in governmental affairs in the Columbia area and has worked closely with contacts within the South Carolina General Assembly, Governor’s office and state agencies to advance clients’ legislative agendas.

Sweatman has worked to represent South Carolina retailers and educational institutions at the state level. She has developed strategy for and managed issues involving labor law, alcohol, pharmacy, grocery, tobacco, doctor pay reimbursements, graduate medical education, health government regulations and the South Carolina state budget, among others.

“I am proud to have worked with Lisa throughout her career while I served in the South of Carolina House of Representatives and as I made the transition to the government relations side. From 2011–2018, Sweatman served as the Director of Government Relations for the South Carolina Retail Association, based in Columbia.

Sweatman received her B.S. in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management from Clemson University in 1998. She is not licensed to practice law.
