Richland Library Hosts Creator of “Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes Exercise”

Jane ElliottGain a better understanding of what discrimination feels like. Join Richland Library for A Candid Conversation with Jane Elliott from 6:30 - 8 p.m., Sunday, February 21. Please register at richlandlibrary.com to attend this online program, which is free and open to the public.

Elliott is an internationally-known teacher, lecturer and diversity trainer, and she's also recipient of the National Mental Health Association Award for Excellence in Education. To learn more, click here.

Responding to the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1968, Elliott is the creator of the famous and startling "Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes Exercise." It labels participants as inferior or superior based solely upon the color of their eyes and exposes them to the experience of being a minority.
