Richland Library Hosts Panel Discussion on The Power of the Vote

With the 2020 General Election less than two months away, join Richland Library for a timely discussion on The Power of the Vote from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., Thursday, September 24. Please register at to take part in this online program, which is free and open to the public.

Judi Gatson, evening anchor for WIS News 10, is moderating the conversation, which will cover the impact of the African-American and Latino votes, questions and concerns about the upcoming election process, and how voting can create change.

During the first hour of the program, hear from:
-Dr. Myriam Torres, UofSC's Consortium for Latino Immigration Studies
-Dr. Todd Shaw, UofSC's Dept. of Political Science & African American Studies

Then panelists during the second hour of the program include:

-Tanya Rodriguez-Hodges, Latino Communications
-Brandon Upson, Amplified Action

The Power of the Vote is the second featured program from an online series that the library's African-American History and Cultural Events Committee (AAHCE) has planned through fall 2020 to address critical themes and provide educational opportunities in our community.
